This love story is one fifteen years, dozens of book discussions, multiple moves, and a couple of food allergies in the making. Kelsey and Sean are some of the lucky few who got the experience of laying a foundation of friendship before feelings entered the picture, hanging out at first because their parents were friends, and sticking around because they got along well, enjoyed their pleasantly meandering conversations, and had a mutual love of C.S. Lewis (my kinda people), until the friendship bloomed into something of a more romantic nature. Since Kelsey is the embodiment of October, it seemed entirely appropriate to shoot their engagement session surrounded by the most gorgeous leaves in the county.
So the whole reason we decided on this location was because Sean had proposed at the edge of this beautiful lake…which had been drained. That shiny bit behind them? It was really swampy. BUT, at just the right time of day, the light reflects off the thin layer of water/mud and makes it look more like an estuary. If you squint.
