"There was a time when I would have believed them
If they told me that you could not come true, just love's illusion
But then you found me
And everything changed and I believe in something again
My whole heart will be yours forever
This is a beautiful start to a lifelong love letter
Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you."
Sara Bareilles' words rang sweet and true as Michelle's processional song. These two are choosing each other's whole selves as a friend, lover, and now spouse - getting to watch the official commitment was such an honor.
CJ carried his late father's watch down the aisle, stowed away carefully in his pocket.
Once CJ left the premises, it was time to make a coffee cake. Y'know, like you do on the morning of your wedding.
Michelle's dad, just waitin’.
"DON'T CRY. We said we wouldn't cry!" (side note: sisters crying together is one of the sweetest and most natural parts of a wedding day. and it also makes me cry. we all cry together, it's very cathartic)
Dad’s first look.
Here comes the bride! Also, Michelle's sister Amanda officiated the wedding, how cool is that?
CJ’s sisters did a reading - and received a thumbs-up.
Michelle, directing the backing food truck. I love this woman.
Inside the food truck - Captain Cookie provided the whole reception with custom ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
Dance floor faces.
A goodbye hug. CJ’s mom pulled Michelle in, and told her that for years she has been praying for just the right girl for her son - and that she was the answer to a mother’s prayer.
Tired but happy at the end of a decidedly good day.
